Dave Donaldson
Executive Vice President and General Manager, Forest Resources
Dave Donaldson, R.F., is Executive Vice President and General Manager of Forest Resources at The Westervelt Company. Since joining in 1995, he has held leadership roles in forestry operations, including Vice President and Director of Woodlands. A U.S. Veteran, Dave holds a degree in Forest Resources from Auburn University and completed executive training at UNC. He also holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. He oversees Westervelt's forestry division, international operations, and strategic partnerships. Dave serves on several forestry-related boards and is active in community and university outreach. He and his wife Tammy live in Tuscaloosa with their four children.
Brandon Loomis
Woodlands Director
Brandon Loomis is the Woodlands Director for The Westervelt Company, where he leads forestry, land use, and minerals operations across company-owned timberlands in six states. Since joining Westervelt in 2015, Brandon has held several key leadership roles, including Regional Manager, Forest Improvement Manager, and Forest Genetics and Wood Quality Specialist. Brandon holds a Master of Natural Resources in Forestry from Auburn University, as well as degrees from the University of Delaware (MA), and Furman University (BA). He is a Registered Forester and certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt. He is actively involved in the Society of American Foresters, forestry organizations, and various research cooperatives advisory boards. Before entering the forestry profession, Brandon served eight years on active duty in the U.S. Army and continues to serve in the Alabama Army National Guard. A native of Elkton, Maryland, Brandon now lives in Tuscaloosa with his wife and four daughters.
Curt Collins
Land Information Services Director
Curt Collins, PhD., has been the Land Information Services (LIS) Director at The Westervelt Company (TWC) since 2012. Prior to this position, he worked for a large forestry consulting firm and as a researcher in the Department of Forestry at Mississippi State University (MSU). Curt’s educational background includes Bachelor of Science in Forestry (Louisiana Tech University), Master of Science (in forestry from MSU), and Doctor of Philosophy (in forest resources from MSU) degrees as well as executive training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). He has put this education in general forestry with specialties in forestry-focused remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), forest optimization (harvest scheduling), and forest biometrics to examine complex forest management issues throughout his professional career. While at TWC, Curt has been entrusted to lead an exceptional team of analysts covering these and related technical areas within forestry. He is a Registered Forester (RF) in Alabama and South Carolina and a Society of American Forestry (SAF) Certified Forester®
Kevin McKinstry
Recreation Director
Kevin is the Recreation Director for the Westervelt Company. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources and Conservation from the University of Florida and is a certified wildlife biologist™. He currently serves as on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Wildlife Federation and serves as Vice President for the Board of Directors for the Alabama Wildlife Federation. In 2017 he was appointed by Governor Kay Ivey to serve on the Alabama Environmental Management Commission.
